Our History/Background

Jim Fei and George Thornley founded Life Cycle Engineering in 1976 after their time with the U.S. Navy’s nuclear submarine fleet. Their pioneering work laid the foundation for LCE’s mission of enhancing performance and reliability for military and commercial clients. With an early focus on naval engineering, we expanded into global industries – all the while guided by the core principle of “doing the right thing the right way.”

This commitment has shaped our partnerships and positioned us as trusted advisors in delivering innovative solutions tailored to our clients’ needs. Nearly 50 years later, we continue to evolve, embracing new technologies and methodologies to empower organizations to navigate complex challenges and develop solutions that leave lasting results.

While U.S. Navy warships are at sea keeping us all safe back here in the U.S., the members of my team and I are behind the scenes making sure that proper post-deployment engine repairs are planned and executed in an efficient amount of time, which allows the Navy to get the ships back out to sea and doing the nation’s business.

Every day I get to mix creativity with brainpower – I live in a beautiful city and work with smart, fun, motivated, caring people doing exactly what I was made to do.
